Workout of the Day: Comic-Con'do Edition

Having fun at Comic-Con is important but your health at Comic-Con is also important.  Otherwise you end up waking up at 4:30AM, driving to San Diego, going to the show from 9:00AM to 9:00PM, taking a nap in your car then going to a Comic-Tron party and all you're subsiding on is three pretzel dogs and a Coke Zero.  This can lead to massive headaches, lethargy on the spot and the dreaded Con-fluenza in the weeks after.

With age comes wisdom, a couple bucks and falling in with people who rent condos.

What I got in at 6:00AM before going to the show:

1)  Leg Press, high reps, feet narrow, shoulder width and wide
2)  Leg Curl
3)  Standing Calf Raise
4)  2 minutes of cardio (bike, Elliptical, treadmill)

I repeated this 6 times with no rest between exercises and followed up with stretching and light meditation along with mantra and positive affirmation.  15 minutes later I sipped some Lean Body Protein and 20 minutes after that took a few chugs of Gatorade, which contains sucrose and dextrose for recovery and energy.

My positive waves were nearly immediately destroyed as I walked to the Convention center and overheard a frat boy trying to explain to another frat boy what Wreck It Ralph was and he didn't understand.

Check out former Mr. Olympia and near San Diego resident Frank Zane training, 90's style:
